We receive many many questions about shipping skins. We recommend this 10 step process to make this short, successful work. Here it is in a nut shell for you to view and print.
Shipping Made Simple
1. Use a cardboard box or burlap bag for shipment. Do not ship your skins in plastic for it retains moisture and heat which can speed up bacterial action.
2. We do not recommend shipping frozen specimens. If shipped frozen the customer assumes all liability.
3. Remove staples, nails, wires, tags, etc. so that our fleshers do not have trouble regrinding their blades due to obstruction.
4. There is a three page shipping form that needs to be completed.
5. Always include on the shipping form address stickers with your name, business name, address and phone number.
6. Place the form in an envelope and seal it to the top of the box.
7. If shipping more than one box, always mark the number of box it is in the entire shipment (i.e: box 1 of 2, etc.)
8. Keep a record of the shipping numbers so you can confirm shipment with UPS or the Post Office.
9. Group items receiving the same service together. If possible, box different services separately.
